Well I think I'm finally done! (although I've thought this before and I was wrong) I started work on the Indy blu ray package art waaay back in March of 2010. There would be a few busy weeks or months then the whole thing would submerge again for a while and then rear it's head, usually at inopportune times, capsizing other assignments, plans and projects. It was a lot of fun drawing Indiana Jones, but this was tough. Rewarding, but really tough. Big thanks to my wife for putting up with this project that turned our life upside down time and again.
I hesitate to even mention that I worked on the project, because the art surely will not look in the final product like what I created, and, which was in the end, rushed. The cover especially does not represent my work. (as you can see in the link below) It's bits and pieces from several covers that are combined by other people and tucked behind the Richard Amsel Indiana from the original 1981 poster, but inside there is plenty of original artwork done by me. Hopefully it will print true to what I produced. We will see in September I guess. I love the character and this franchise and it's been an honor to work on it. It's also been a big deal to me because Drew Struzan, my mentor is thee Indiana Jones artist. And several of my friends, Hugh Fleming, Mark Raats, Adam Hughes and Trevor Grove are great artists who've created the best Indy art, this side of Struzan, ever created for the franchise, have been very encouraging over the years I've worked on the project.

…an "aw shucks" and big thanks for your nod. I was glad to help…even if it was delayed a time or two.
I'm a bit disappointed they slapped the Amsel back on the cover. Not that its a bad piece or anything, but at this point its been done to death. Can't wait to see the whole package! Especially if your Spalko was rejected, can't wait to see what was accepted!
I don't think there's any doubt in the amazing work you put into this project and at least you can show people what YOU wanted to do, be it on here, on your site, in a book... doesn't matter how, You'll show us what could have been and we'll all scream from the rafters how we prefer it to what we got!
(Let me know if you need help with anything, bro.)
Its truly sad to hear how your creative process was hampered but in the end I sincerely hope that what you created is left to shine brightly - as is should.
Congratulations and damn fine. Looking forward to seeing the finished set and also looking forward to seeing you again in August.
Peace Bro...
I do wish they'd just let guys like you control the entire art direction of these things....
