I saw the original filming model when they had "The Art of Star Wars" exhibit here at the Museum of Art, and ran into a dear friend (and illustrator) Sue Dawe at the show. She's a *major* Star Wars fan and walking encyclopedia of SW trivia; she pointed out how the manikin wearing Princess Leia's slave outfit had the bottoms on backward (apparently no one noticed when they put it together), and the little Champion spark plug decal over the engine nacelle on the back of the Falcon. (I think there was also a Valvoline decal, but I don't recall where it was.) As we chatted, a small crowd began to form looking for all the little details she was talking about! When we left, there were about 20 people crowded around the Falcon looking for the tiny decal (the model itself is huge.)
for the above person that called it a piece of junk..
I love it.. and ships are hard to do..
