hi Jason,
i'm wondering how does it work to achieve the final painting from those illustrations?
for instance, I know you did many indivudual drawings for Padme, but how you put them together in color in a print?
can't wait to see the next ones and the final print, I check eveyday if there is something new!

My methods vary, but there is 3 basic steps: Underdrawing (line art) Tonal (transparent color) and Render (opaque)
I'm drawing the elements of the underdrawing now, when they are all done, they will be combined into one big file and printed onto the Illustration board, which I'll paint.

yeah, that's a cool method, mine involve less technology;P
that's actually the perfect way to do it as painting it just like that, without much reference is quite risky for the likeness of the characters
that's actually why I settled for a hybrid drawing/painting method rather than just painting
your C5 print will be much loaded with all those elements! that's actually quite cool you get to do a print for C5 in first place
congrats for such success
David

Your threepio looks metalic and shiny even in black and white. And the art is "shiny" too ;)

Oh, my favourite two...
I always found C3PO hard to render, with all the light reflecting on the different golder parts.

Good luck with them :)

It's R2-D2 AND C-3PO. That is how you properly spell it.

Artoo and Threepio are the phonetic spellings of their names, used often in the Star Wars novels. Check it: [link]

Yes, R2-D2 and C-3PO are their model numbers that they are referred to sometimes, but Artoo and Threepio are their names. It makes them personalities, not just machines.
